The Türkiye 3. Futbol Ligi 1991/92 was the 21st season of the third highest Turkish division in professional men's football. It was started on September 8, 1991 with the 1st matchday and ended on May 19, 1992 with the 34th and final matchday.

Competition mode

The 1991/92 season, the 3rd Lig was played as a nine-track league like the preseason . The total number of teams increased from 161 to 166. These 166 teams played in nine groups for promotion to the 2nd league or against relegation to the regional amateur leagues. The division of the league was carried out regionally, so that all teams in a group came from neighboring or close to one another provinces . All first placed went straight to the 2nd league , while the last placed were relegated.

Beginning of the season were the remaining from the previous season 143 Teams nine relegated from the 2. Lig Giresunspor , Sümerbank Beykozspor , akçaabat sebatspor , Kütahyaspor , Kusadasispor , Yeni Afyonspor , Nevşehirspor , Niğdespor , Polatlıspor , the 14 newcomers Samsun Kadiköyspor , Pazarspor , Ardeşen Belediyespor , Vezirköprüspor , Van DSİ , Hakkari PTT SK , Sarıkamış Esnafspor , Kırıkhan Belediyespor , Ankara Köy Hizmetlerispor , Antalya Ormanspor , Konya Yolspor , Silifkespor , Eskişehir Demirspor , Istanbul Büyükesşehir Belediyespor . The newcomers were either accepted as champions from the then fourth-class regional amateur leagues or had met the requirements of the Turkish Football Association and were allowed to participate in the third division.

Akçaabat Sebatspor ( Group 1 ), Batman Belediyespor ( Group 2 ), İskenderunspor ( Group 3 ), Yeni Yozgatspor ( Group 4 ), Yeni Nazillispor ( Group 5 ), Kütahyaspor ( Group 6 ), Balıkesirspor ( Group 7 ), İstanbulspor ( Group 8 ) and Zonguldakspor ( Group 9 ) achieved the championship of the 3rd Lig in their groups and thus the direct promotion to the 2nd Lig .

At the end of the season, from Group 1 Suluovaspor , Group 2 Sarıkamış Esnafspor , Group 3 Reyhanlıspor , Group 4 MKE Çankırıspor , Group 5 Yeni Sandıklıspor , Group 6 Çeşmespor , Group 7 Edremitspor , Group 8 İstanbul THY SK and Group 9 Adapazarsteig as the regional climbers Amateur league. In addition to these regular relegations, Antalya Yolspor did not take part in the competition of the 3rd Lig the coming season despite relegation.

At the start of the season, several clubs changed their names for various reasons.
