Belediye Bingölspor (or just Bingölspor ) was a football club from the eastern Turkish province of Bingöl .
history
founding
The association was originally founded in 1981 under the name Bingölspor .
After it was founded, they played in the regional amateur leagues for a long time. In the 1995/96 season they made the leap into what was then the second Turkish league . After a disappointing season, they were relegated to the third division. Here, too, they only played two average seasons, so that at the end of the 1999/2000 season they were relegated to the regional amateur league in last place with just four out of 96 possible points.
In the amateur league they stayed for a few years without any notable success until the long-awaited promotion to the TFF 3rd Lig was achieved in the 2006/07 season . Since then, the club has played in this league and narrowly missed promotion twice.
Modern times
In the 2008/09 season, the club was first renamed Bingöl Belediyespor and then Belediye Bingölspor .
At the end of the 2000s and the beginning of the 2010s, the club ran into ever greater financial difficulties. The situation came to a head in the course of the 2013/14 fourth division season . During the first half of the season, the club struggled to cover travel expenses for the away games and was constantly visited by creditors. So you could not travel to the away game against Beylerbeyi SK on the 18th matchday . The Turkish Football Association rated the game as a 3-0 defeat according to its rules and deducted an additional three points from the club. After the club had not started the game against Kizilcabölükspor , the regulations came into force, according to which teams that did not play two games within a season for no reason had to be automatically relegated. All of the club's remaining games were counted as a 3-0 defeat.
