Uzunköprüspor is a Turkish sports club from Uzunköprü , a town in the Edirne province . The most famous department is the football division of the club, while Uzunköprüspor also has a department in basketball.
history
The football division of the club played a total of eleven seasons in the third highest professional division, in today's TFF 2. Lig in the 1980s and 1990s . In the third division season 1987/88 the club reached the championship and rose for the first time in its club history in the second highest Turkish league, in today's TFF 1st Lig on. There, however, the relegation could not be achieved and the club had to relegate again.
After Uzunköprüspor had been active in the 3rd league for seven years, they said goodbye to professional football in the summer of 1996 when they were relegated from the 3rd league and have since played in the lower Turkish amateur leagues.
The basketball team
In addition to the football division, the club's basketball division also had some successes in the regional league.
