The Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi Bategorisi 2002/03 was the 32nd season of the third highest Turkish division in professional men's football. It began on August 24, 2002 with the 1st matchday and ended on May 25, 2003 with the 34th and final matchday.

Competition mode

In the 2002/03 season, the TFF 2nd Lig was, in contrast to the previous season, not carried out in a five-track and three-tier league, but was transferred to a three-tier and one-tier league. In addition, the total number of teams was increased from 50 to 52. These 52 teams played in three groups with 17 and 18 teams each for promotion to the 2nd Lig Aategorisi or against relegation to the TFF 3rd Lig . The division of the league was carried out regionally, so that mostly all teams in a group came from neighboring or close to one another provinces . All first placed teams went straight to the 2nd Lig A category , while the last two teams in all groups were relegated. The groups were not numbered as before, but designated as groups A, B and C.

Beginning of the season were the remaining from the previous season 37 teams the five relegated from the 2. Lig Hatayspor , Siirt Jetpaspor , Erciyesspor , Batman Petrolspor , Aydınspor , the ten newcomers Çubukspor , Orduspor , Adiyamanspor , Sanliurfa Belediyespor , Zonguldakspor , Tarsus İdman Yurdu , Muğlaspor , Bursa Merinosspor , Fatih Karagümrük SK , Eyüpspor were added. The newcomers were promoted from the TFF 3rd Lig.

Karşıyaka SK ( Group A ), Türk Telekomspor ( Group B ), Erciyesspor ( Group C ) achieved the championship of the 3rd league in their groups and thus direct promotion to the 2nd league . At the end of the season Gaziosmanpaşaspor from group A , Kütahyaspor from group B Çubukspor , Tokatspor and from group C Hakkarispor , Silopi Cudispor were relegated to the TFF 3rd Lig .

At the start of the season, Iğdır Belediyespor changed his name to Iğdırspor and Siirt Jetpaspor to Siirtspor .
