The TFF 2. Lig 2010/11 was the 40th season of the third highest Turkish division in professional men's football. It started on August 29, 2010 with the 1st matchday of the qualifying round and ended on May 22, 2011 with the playoff final.

Competition mode

In the 2010/11 season, which was TFF 2. Lig , unlike the pre-season not carried out in a four-track and dreietappigen League, but was transferred to a two-track and einetappige league. Furthermore, the total number of teams has been reduced from 45 to 36. These 36 teams played in two groups of 18 teams each for promotion to the TFF 1st Lig and against relegation to the TFF 3rd Lig . The division of the league was not carried out regionally. All first placed teams went straight to the 2nd Lig A category , while the last three teams in all groups were relegated. The division of the teams into the respective groups was determined by drawing lots. The top of the table in both groups rose directly to the higher TFF 1st Lig. The teams in places two to five in both groups took part in the play-offs, where the third promoted team was determined by the knockout system . The play-offs were held in a city that was neutral for all participating teams and began with the quarter-finals. The table second of one group competed against the table fifth of the other group and the table third of one group against the table fourth of the other group. Each knockout round was played with one match. The teams in places fifteen to eighteen were relegated to the TFF 3rd Lig.

At the beginning of the season, the three relegated teams from TFF 1. Lig Hacettepe SK , Dardanelspor , Kocaelispor , the three newcomers Bandırmaspor , Balıkesirspor and Yeni Malatyaspor were added to the 30 teams remaining from the previous season . The newcomers were promoted from the TFF 3rd Lig.

Göztepe Izmir reached the championship of the group white and rose to the TFF 1st Lig after eight years of abstinence. Elazığspor reached the championship of the group red and rose after four years back to the TFF 1st Lig. The play-offs were carried out as a neutral city in Antalya and played under the eight teams Bandırmaspor , Bugsaşspor , Beypazarı Şekerspor , Yeni Malatyaspor , Konya Şekerspor , Eyüpspor , Sakaryaspor and Adana Demirspor . In the play-off final Sakaryaspor prevailed 5-1 against Bandırmaspor and thus achieved the first promotion in the club's history to the second highest Turkish league. Akçaabat Sebatspor , Hacettepe SK , Gebzespor ( group white ) and Tarsus İdman Yurdu , Belediye Vanspor , Dardanelspor ( group red ) were all relegated at the end of the season .

At the start of the season, several teams changed their names. So Etimesgut Şekerspor was called Beypazarı Şekerspor , Korfez Belediyespor in Korfezspor and the second club Trabzonspors Trabzon Karadenizspor in 1461 Trabzon .

Kocaelispor were deducted six points at the end of the season due to various irregularities.
