1922 Konyaspor or more rarely 1922 Konyaspor Kulübü is a Turkish football club from the Central Anatolian city ​​of Konya . The team currently plays in the Turkish TFF 2nd Lig and the club colors are blue-green. The club was created by the fact that the sports club Konya Şekerspor merged its football division with Konyaspor to Torku Konyaspor and the Anadolu Selçukluspor became the side team Torku Konyaspors. The sports club Konya Şekerspor is still active in wrestling and with Konya Torku Şeker Spor-Vivelo also in cycling . Merger with Konyaspor and renaming

Konya Şekerspor merged with the second division side Konyaspor to Torku Konyaspor in July 2012 . The competition rights of Konya Şekerspor in the TFF 2. Lig were not given up. Instead, the club was renamed Anadolu Selçukluspor and will appear in the future as a side team Torku Konyaspors in the 2nd Lig.

The new name Anadolu Selçukluspor is an allusion to the Sultanate of the Rum Seljuks . Similar to the new name of the association, this sultanate is also known as Anadolu Selçuklu Devleti (German: Anatolian-Seljuk state) in Turkey ; it was headquartered in Konya Province . The province is historically associated with this sultanate.

Another name change

Before the 2014/15 season, the name was changed slightly from Anadolu Selçukluspor to Anadolu Selçukspor . The club's colors and logo have been retained and only the name in the logo has been adapted to the new name. On June 1, 2019, Anadolu Selçukspor became Konyaspor in 1922 .
