Karacabey Birlikspor is a Turkish football club from the city of Karacabey , from the district of the same name in the Bursa province . The association was still called Bursa Nilüferspor until summer 2016 and was based in Nilüfer , a district of Bursa .

history

founding

The club was originally founded in 1999 as Nilüfer Belediyespor before the football division split from it in 2008 and called itself Bursa Nilüferspor. Since the 2005/2006 season they have been playing in the TFF 3rd Lig , the fourth division (from 2005 to 2008 as Nilüfer Belediyespor, since 2008 as Bursa Nilüferspor). The club receives support from fans from the much larger club Bursaspor .

Sale and renaming

The club, which was still called Bursa Nilüferspor until summer 2016 and was based in Nilüfer , a district of Bursa , was sold to a new investor for the 2016/17 season. He renamed the club in Karacabey Birlik Spor Kulübü or in short Karacabey Birlikspor (in German: Karacabey Vereinigung Sport Klub ) and relocated the club's headquarters to the city of Karacabey , from the district of the same name in the province of Bursa .
