history
founding
The club was founded in 1940 as a sports club with several departments. Later, the city administration of Sivas took over the association and supported it from then on. The previous club name was changed to Sivas 4 Eylül Belediyespor . In addition to the previously existing departments, a football department was also opened in the 1980s.
Entry into professional football and change of name to Sivas 4 Eylül Belediyespor
In order to better differentiate the club from the city's first division club, Sivasspor , the club name was changed to Sivas 4 Eylül Belediyespor in the summer of 2009 . In the summer of 2010 he was promoted to the TFF 3rd Lig , the fourth highest Turkish league, and thus the first participation in Turkish professional football. After occupying middle positions in the league in the first two seasons, they played for the championship for a long time in the 2012/13 season . At the end of the season they qualified for the playoffs of the league by reaching 3rd place in the table. In the semifinals of these playoffs, in which the last three promoted players were played, they lost to Dardanelspor with 1: 2 and thus missed promotion to the TFF 2nd Lig .
Promotion to the TFF 2nd Lig
After the team had finished the 2013/14 season in a middle place in the table, they fought head-to-head for the championship with Eyüpspor in 2014/15 . At the start of the season, the team took the lead twice for one game day each time, but overall they lost out to Eyüpspor and ended the regular league phase behind them as runner-up. With this placement, the club missed direct promotion to the TFF 2nd Lig , but qualified for the play-off phase of the season. In the play-off final, Sivas 4 Eylül defeated Denizli Büyükşehir Belediyespor 1-0 and rose to the TFF 2nd Lig for the first time in the club's history.
Before the start of the 2015/16 season, the club took its original name Sivas Belediyespor again . The agreements have also been changed from red-blue to green-white.
