Turgutluspor is a Turkish football club from the district town of Turgutlu in the Manisa province .

history

The club was founded in 1984 through the merger of the two clubs Toprakspor and Tukaşspor. In the summer of 1993, the club made it to the second highest Turkish league, the TFF 1st Lig, for the first time in the club's history . With the rise, the club name was changed to Yeni Turgutluspor (German: New Turgutluspor) . Already in the first season they made it into the promotion round of the 1st Lig and missed promotion to the Süper Lig . At the end of the 1997/98 season the relegation failed and so they played from now on in third class. After two years of abstinence, however, they rose again to the TFF 1st Lig. They only stayed here for two years and missed relegation in summer 2003. After taking part in the game for two seasons in the third division, the promotion succeeded again through the championship.

The 2011/12 season was very ambitious. First the national player Yusuf Şimşek was committed in the double role of player- coach . Then they brought several experienced players from the Süper Lig and TFF 1st Lig such as Serhat Akın , Erhan Namlı and Ahmet Çağıran . The season ended in fifth place in the table and made it into the relegation round. Here they were eliminated in the quarterfinals against Fethiyespor . As a consequence, they separated from Yusuf Şimşek and announced a restructuring of the team.

In the fourth division season 2014/15 the team missed the relegation of the TFF 2nd Lig and was relegated to the TFF 3rd Lig. Relegated to this league, the club also missed relegation here and thus rose to the amateur league after 31 years.
