Manisa is a province of Turkey with an area of ​​13,120 km² and a population of almost 1.4 million people, of which about 300,000 live in the provincial capital Manisa . The population density is around 106 inhabitants / km². Until 1920 the name Saruhan, derived from the Saruchanid dynasty , was used for the province. The license plate number is 45.

The province is bordered from the southeast to the northwest by İzmir , to the north by Balıkesir , to the east by Kütahya and Uşak and finally to the south by Denizli and Aydın .

Counties

Manisa has been a big city (Büyükşehir belediyesi) since 2012. After an administrative reform in 2014, all districts are directly subordinate to the Lord Mayor of Manisa.
