Düzce is a northern Turkish province on the western Black Sea .

Its capital is the city of Düzce . The province formerly belonged to Bolu Province and was founded on December 9, 1999 after the severe earthquakes on August 17 and November 12, 1999. It is the 81st and youngest province in Turkey .

The province has 387,844 inhabitants (as of the end of 2018) on an area of ​​2,492 km². It borders the provinces of Bolu , Sakarya and Zonguldak . The province is drained by the Melen Çayı River in a northerly direction towards the Black Sea.

The population density is 155.6 inhabitants / km².
