Gümüşova is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Düzce . The place is located about 20 kilometers west of the provincial capital Düzce and is home to almost half of the district's population .

The district is located in the west of the province. It borders on Cumayeri County in the north, Çilimli and the central Düzce County in the east, Gölyaka in the south and Sakarya Province in the west . The city and the district crosses the D-100 highway from west to east, which leads from Edirne via Istanbul to Erzurum and the Iranian border. In parallel, the European route 80 runs a little further south and takes a similar route. The city lies on the Düzce Ovası plain , in the northwest of the district are the foothills of the Akçakoca Dağları .

The district was created in 1993 by Act No. 3949 and, in addition to the administrative center ( Merkez ), also includes 18 villages ( Köy ), of which Selamlar (826 inhabitants) is the largest. An average of 439 people inhabit each of these villages.
