Ardahan is a Turkish province in the northeast of the country on the border with Georgia and thus a border region between Eastern Anatolia and Transcaucasia . Between 1924 and 1926 the province of Ardahan was already independent, then came to the province of Kars and was spun off from this again in 1992. The capital of the province is Ardahan of the same name .

In the south it borders on the province of Kars, in the southwest on Erzurum , in the west on Artvin and in the north and east on Georgia. A small part borders on Armenia .
