Ordu is a Turkish province in the eastern part of the Turkish Black Sea coast . The capital of the city is Altınordu . Because of the humid climate and abundant rainfall, it has a very green flora.

The population traditionally practices hazelnut farming, the majority of which is exported abroad. Due to the mountainous landscape, harvesting is a very arduous job.

The province is 5,963 km² and is located on the Pontic Mountains . It has 750,588 inhabitants (as of 2016). This corresponds to a population density of around 126 inhabitants / km².

The province has the longest tunnel in Turkey at 3820 meters, the Nefise-Akçelik Tüneli located on the E10 coastal road .

Ordu Province has been a major city ( Büyükşehir belediyesi ) since 2013 . After an administrative reform in 2014, all districts are directly subordinate to the Lord Mayor of Ordu. The former mayors of the municipalities ( Belediye ) were downgraded to the rank of Muhtar . Therefore, the 19 rural districts are also urban districts:
