Turn

A Sietwende is a low old dike that lies inland behind the flood dike and mostly between the boundaries of two places, which prevents the water from flowing into the land from behind after a dike breach further away. Turns are particularly frequent on the Lower Elbe .

Siethwende is also the name of a district of the municipality of Sommerland in the Steinburg district in the south of Schleswig-Holstein .
