Kırkağaç

Kırkağaç is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Manisa . The city is located about 60 kilometers north of the provincial capital Manisa .

The district is in the north of the province. It is bordered by Akhisar to the south, Soma to the west, and Balıkesir Province to the north . The county seat is on the D-240 road from Akhisar via Soma to Bergama . To the northeast of the city lies the Kırkağaç Ovası plain , through which the Bakırçay River, the ancient Kaikos, flows .

Kırkağaç is known in Turkey for its sugar melons . In the meantime, melons from the Kırkağaç area ( Kırkağaç kavunu ) in Turkey have achieved registered trademark status.
