Turgutlu is a city and a district in the Manisa Province in Turkey . The city has 114,483 inhabitants and four incorporated localities, the district 139,897 on an area of 473 km². It goes back to antiquity and was destroyed in the First World War. Before the war the city was called Cassaba .
Up to 100 brickworks were founded in the 1920s, but for economic reasons they closed or will close in the next few years. The city is on the E 96 .
