Yunusemre is a district of the Turkish province of Manisa and at the same time a municipality of the Büyükşehir belediyesi (large city municipality) Manisa . After the provincial capital was declared Büyükşehir belediyesi, the former central district was divided into two new İlçe, of which the southeast is Şehzadeler and the northwest is Yunusemre.

The district is located in the west of the province. It borders on Saruhanlı to the northeast, Şehzadeler to the east, and Izmir Province to the south, west and north . In the southeast part of the provincial capital belongs to the district. From there to the west runs the trunk road D-250, which connects Menemen with Turgutlu , as well as a parallel railway connection from the west coast via Manisa to Uşak . The Gediz flows through the district in roughly the same direction . In the northeast of the district is the Güzelhisar Barajı reservoir , in which the Kocaçay River (later Güzelhisar Deresi ) is dammed. This rises in the northeast of the district at the 1074 meter high Yunt Dağı .

The municipality is named after the Sufi mystic Yunus Emre .
