Saruhanlı is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Manisa . The city is located about 20 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital Manisa .

The district is located in the west of the province. It borders in the northeast on Akhisar , in the east on Gölmarmara , in the south on Ahmetli and Turgutlu , in the southwest on the central district and in the northwest on the province of Izmir . The county seat is on the D-565 road from Manisa to Akhisar. It lies on the plain of the Kumçay River , a tributary of the Gediz .
