Cleverns-Sandel was a municipality in the Lower Saxony district of Friesland . Today the former municipality is divided into the districts Cleverns and Sandel of the district town of Jever .

history

In 1933, the previously independent municipalities of Cleverns and Sandel as well as Sande and Schortens were dissolved and incorporated into the new municipality of Oestringen by the Oldenburg law on the simplification and cheaper administration of April 27, 1933 . However, this was already dissolved in 1948. While Sande and Schortens regained their independence, Cleverns and Sandel were merged to form the new municipality of Cleverns-Sandel.

On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Cleverns-Sandel was incorporated into the district town of Jever as part of the municipal reorganization . A connection to the community of Schortens had previously been in the room.

Population numbers

On June 6, 1961, 1426 inhabitants lived in the community, on May 27, 1970 there were 1566.
