Taner Taşkın (born October 27, 1972 in Izmir ) is a former Turkish football player and today's coach .

Career

As a player

Taşkın started his career in 1990 at Mustafakemalpaşaspor and moved to Manisaspor in 1991 . Here he came to 21 missions before he went to Gençlerbirliği Ankara in 1992 . There he played a total of seven years and played 164 games. He then played at Mobellaspor , in 2001 he moved to Manisaspor for the second time, where he made 70 appearances and scored the only goal of his professional career. In 2003 it was awarded to Çorumspor for a short time ; In 2004 he played again for Mustafakemalpaşaspor before ending his career in 2005.

National team

In 1992, at the age of 20, he was nominated by the then U-21 national coach Fatih Terim for the squad of the Turkish U-21 national team and played seven games in two years.

On the occasion of the Mediterranean Games in 1993, he was appointed to the squad of the Olympic selection of Turkey, which also looked after Terim. In this tournament Taşkın won the gold medal with his team. During this tournament he played all his team's games.

As a trainer

Taşkın began his coaching career in 2007 at Turgutluspor , in 2009 he moved to Menemen Belediyespor and coached the club for five years. Taşkın led the club in the 2013/14 season for promotion from the TFF 3rd Lig to the TFF 2nd Lig . The club finished the league phase in fifth place and qualified for the play-off round. There the team prevailed 1-0 against Yeni Diyarbakırspor and rose again after 13 years in the TFF 2nd Lig.

In October 2014, Taşkın surprisingly announced his resignation from Menemen and just under a week later moved to Manisaspor to replace the recently dismissed Tahir Karapınar . He signed a two-year contract. After this club missed relegation in the TFF 1st Lig in summer 2015 and had to play in the TFF 2nd Lig the next season , Barut stayed with Manisaspor. In the 2nd Lig he was third division champion with his club and achieved direct promotion. Despite this success with Manisaspor, he left the club in summer 2016.
