The Spor Toto 3rd Lig 2015/16 was the 15th season to be the fourth-highest Turkish division in men's football. It started on August 23, 2015 with the 1st matchday and ended on May 15, 2016 with the play-off games between the second to fifth placed in all three groups.

Competition mode

The total number of teams was increased from 54 teams to 57 teams in contrast to the previous season . These played in three groups with 19 teams each for promotion to the TFF 2nd Lig or against relegation to the regional amateur league. The division of the league was not carried out regionally. In the first stage, the normal league phase , all first-placed teams will be promoted directly to the TFF 2nd Lig, while the four last-placed teams in all groups will be relegated to the Boelgesel Amatoer Ligi . The division of the teams into the respective groups was drawn in July 2015 in the central training facility of the Turkish Football Association in Istanbul's Beykoz district . Two weeks later the game time was drawn in the same place. Furthermore, during the first stage, the normal Liaphase, it was also determined which teams had qualified for the second stage, for the playoff phase. The second to fifth placed in all groups qualified for the playoffs.

In the play-off phase, the last three promoted players are determined by the knockout system . A separate play-off round is carried out for each group. In each of these playoff rounds, one promoted player is played. The matches of the semi-finals will be decided with a home and away leg and thus form a rule change from last season, in which the semi-finals were decided with a match in a city that was neutral for all participating teams. The play-off finals, however, are like the last Year decided with one game and take place in cities that are neutral for all participating teams.

Foreigners' places

Foreign players are not allowed to play in the TFF 3rd Lig. Teams that have been relegated from the TFF 1st Lig can loan their foreign players to clubs in the upper leagues.

Composition of participants

Beginning of the season are on the previous season remaining 39 teams, the six relegated from the TFF 2. Lig TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor , Altay Izmir , Körfez Iskenderunspor , Turgutluspor , Ofspor , Gölbaşıspor , BIRLIK NAKLIYAT DÜZYURTSPOR and the eleven climbers Cizrespor , Yomraspor , Dersimspor , Kozan Belediyespor , Kastamonuspor 1966 , Zara Belediyespor , Bodrum Belediyesi Bodrumspor , Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyespor , Sultanbeyli Belediyespor , Düzcespor , Tekirdağspor from the Bölgesel Amatör Lig .

  • In the summer of 2014, the Kemer Tekirovaspor club changed its name to Kemerspor 2003 . The addition to the name in 2003 had to be added because the naming rights for the former Kemerspor association have not yet been released.
