Dersimspor is a Turkish football club from the city of Tunceli in the eastern Turkish province of Tunceli of the same name . The club was founded in 2009 and has the club colors blue and white. The team plays their home games at Tunceli Ataturk Stadı . In the summer of 2015, six years after the club was founded, the club achieved promotion to the TFF 3rd Lig , the fourth-highest division, and thus the first participation in Turkish professional football.

history

Foundation and the first years

After the city and thus the province of Tunceli had a football club with Tuncelispor until the 1990s , the region remained without representatives in Turkish football after the relegation of this club and the immediately following dissolution . Taking this as an opportunity, several associations were founded, but quickly dissolved.

In the summer of 2009 the Dersimspor association was founded under the patronage of the Welsh (governor) Mustafa Taşkesen and Taşkesen was elected as the first honorary president. The chosen name Dersim was taken because the region around the province of Tunceli previously bore this name.

Already in its first season 2009/10 the club finished the Dersim Amatör Küme as champions and thus received the right to participate in the Bölgesel Amatoer Lig (BAL), the fifth-highest Turkish league and the highest Turkish amateur league, which was introduced in the summer . In the first season in the BAL, the club finished behind Erzurum Büyükşehir Belediyespor as second in the table and thus missed promotion. In the three seasons 2011/12 to 2013/14, the club took 3rd place in the table twice and 7th place in the table once. During this time, the club was deducted three points in the 2012/13 season due to rule violations.

Entry into professional football

For the 2014/15 season the club strengthened itself with the foreign players Lucas Sebastian Rodriguez and Yannick Alex Kore . The investments made paid off. So the club ended the season as champions and rose for the first time in its club history in the TFF 3rd Lig , in the lowest Turkish professional league. This rise also meant the club's first participation in Turkish professional football.
