Çorum FK is a Turkish football club from the provincial capital Çorum of the province of Çorum of the same name . The club was founded in 1997 as a sports club of the local city administration under the name Çorum Belediyespor (German sports club of the city administration Çorum ) and has the club colors red-black. The team plays their home games at the Dr. Turhan Kılıççıoğlu Stadı . In the summer of 2012, the club achieved promotion to the TFF 3rd Lig , the fourth highest division, and thus the first participation in Turkish professional football. The club has no relationship with the better-known and older club Çorumspor and played with this in the 2012/13 season in the TFF 3rd Lig. Çorum Belediyespor is suspected of carrying out a creeping takeover of Çorumspor. So the original club colors were changed from blue-yellow, after Çorumspors relegated to the amateur league, to the club colors of this club red-black.

Foundation and the first years

The association was founded in 1997 under the name Çorum Belediye Spor Kulübü , or Çorum Belediyespor for short . After the club was founded, the club played in the regional amateur leagues.

Return to professional football

In the 2011/12 season the club ended the season of the Boelgesel Amatoer Lig , the fifth highest Turkish league as champions, and rose to the TFF 3rd Lig , the lowest Turkish professional league, for the first time in the club's history .

Since December 2019 the association Çorum Futbol Kulübü Anonim Şirketi has been called Çorum FK for short .
