24 Erzincanspor is a Turkish football club from the city of Erzincan in the Erzincan province of the same name .

history

founding

The club was founded in 1984 as Refahiyespor in the eponymous district town of Refahiye and has long been active in the lower regional amateur leagues. In the 2010/11 season, the club rose to the Boelgesel Amatoer Lig (BAL), the highest Turkish amateur league, after a 3-2 win against Erzincanspor , the most famous club in the common province of Erzincan . In the very next year the team won the championship of the BAL and with it the march into the TFF 3rd Lig . In the fourth-highest Turkish professional league, 10th place was taken in the 2012/13 season and thus the class could be held in the first year as a professional club. In the 2013/14 season they finished 10th again.

Change of name to 24 Erzincanspor

After in the first half of the 2010s with Erzincanspor , the most famous club in the province of Erzincan, had to dissolve heavily in debt, several clubs claimed the successor of this club. So also undertook Refahiyespor a first step in this direction and changed his club to the 2012/13 season in Erzincan Refahiyespor order. With the extension of the name Erzincan , the affiliation to the province of Erzincan was made clear and a successor was also claimed for Erzincanspor.

For the 2015/16 season, the club changed its name again and took the name 24 Erzincanspor . Erzincanspor thus again provided the successor to the historical association. Since the naming rights for this association were not available, the suffix 24 was introduced to the name. 24 is the license plate for the province of Erzincan.
