Çine is a city in the Ilçe (district) of the same name in the south of the Turkish province of Aydın and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Aydın (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 .
The place received the status of a Belediye (municipality) in 1880 .
Since a regional reform in 2014, the Ilçe (district) is identical in area and population to the district town, the former 67 villages and 2 municipalities of the district became the Mahalla (district) of the city.
Worth seeing
A few kilometers west of Çine are the ruins of the ancient Carian city of Alabanda near the village of Doğanyurt .
