Koçarlı is a district ( İlçe ) in the Turkish province of Aydın and, together with the district town, also part of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Aydın (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 . Koçarlı is located about 15 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Aydın , at the transition from the Beşparmak Dağları to the Büyük Menderes plain . According to the city logo, the place received the status of a Belediye (municipality) in 1946
Since a regional reform in 2014, the district has been identical in terms of area and population to the district town; all former villages and communities in the district have become Mahalla (districts) of the city.
