Karpuzlu is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Aydın and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Aydın (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 . To the northwest of the city is the Yaylakavak Dam . According to the city logo, the place was raised to a Belediye (municipality) in 1984 .
Since a regional reform in 2014, the district has been identical to the district town in terms of area and population; all former villages and communities in the district have become mahalla (districts) of the city.
Worth seeing
In the immediate vicinity of the county seat are the remarkable ruins of the ancient Carian city of Alinda .
