İncirliova ( Turkish for fig plain ) is a place in the Ilçe (district) of the same name in the Turkish province of Aydın and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Aydın (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 . The highway from Izmir to Aydın and various railway lines run through İncirliova.
history
The history of İncirliova district goes back to the 17th century. In 1898 the place was raised to a municipality (Belediye) with the name Karapinar and in 1934 got the current name İncirliova. On July 4, 1987, the Ilçe (district) İncirliova was formed.
Since a regional reform in 2014, the Ilçe is identical in terms of area and population to the district town, all 22 former villages and the two municipalities of the district became mahalla (districts) of the city.
Economically, İncirliova lives mainly from agriculture and related industry. The İkizdere Dam is to the north of the city .
In İncirliova, figs , barley , wheat , tobacco , cotton , sesame , corn , olives and vegetables are grown .
