Buharkent is a city in the district of the same name in the northeast of the Turkish province of Aydın and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Aydın (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 . It is located on the north bank of the Great Meander , about 80 kilometers east of the provincial capital on the D-320 highway that connects Aydın with Denizli .
According to the city seal, the place was raised to the rank of Belediye (municipality) in 1954 .
Since a regional reform in 2014, the Ilçe (district) is identical in area and population to the district town, all former villages and communities in the district became mahalla (districts) of the city.
