Roland Perret

Roland Perret (born October 23, 1927 in Horn , Canton Thurgau ; † February 12, 2006 in St. Gallen ) was a Swiss eventing rider , entrepreneur and sports official .

From 1988 to 1992 he was Vice President of the Swiss Equestrian Federation . He was also head of the team, president of the jury, international judge and head of delegation.

Olympic games

At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1956 he rode for Switzerland and finished 31st in the individual with Erlfried and 8th with the Swiss team.

During the cross-country ride, a German rider fell, whereupon Perret caught his horse, handed it over to his rider and accepted the corresponding loss of time. Then Queen Elisabeth mentioned him as an example of fairness.

In the 1984 Olympics he financed the journey of European champion Hansueli dirt and whose horse Oran out of pocket. Schmutz and his horse won the dressage and came in 11th overall.

Private

He has five children with his wife Sonja. His daughter Nicole (* 1961) and her husband run the riding facility in Horn, his daughter Danièle (* 1958, married Vogg) runs the Gut Weiherhof riding facility on Lake Constance with her husband and three sons (Christian, Felix and Ben ). There is also son Maurice (* 1959) and daughters Jaqueline (* 1964) and Nadine (* 1967).
