Efeler is a city in the Ilçe (district) of the same name in the Turkish province of Aydın and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Aydın (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 . The district was founded in 2012 as the last district in the province and consisted of five Belediye (municipalities) and 57 villages (Köy).
The place has had the status of a municipality ( Belediye ) since April 1, 2014 .
Since a regional reform in 2014, the Ilçe (district) is identical in area and population to the district town, all former villages and communities in the district became mahalla (districts) of the city.
