Karacasu ( Turkish for deer water ) is a city and a district of the same name in the southeast of the Turkish province of Aydın and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Aydın (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 . The city lies in the valley of the Vandalas Deresi , between the mountain ranges Akdağ in the east and Karıncalı Dağ in the west. The district borders Bozdoğan to the west, Denizli Province to the south and east, and Nazilli and Kuyucak to the north .

According to the city logo, the place received the status of a municipality ( Belediye ) as early as 1867 .

Since a regional reform in 2014, the district has been identical to the district town in terms of area and population; all former villages and communities in the district have become mahalla (districts) of the city.

Worth seeing

About ten kilometers southeast of Karacasu, near Geyre, are the ruins of the ancient Carian city of Aphrodisias .
