Regional amateur league ↓

The Spor Toto Türkiye 3. Futbol Ligi 2011/12 was the eleventh season of the fourth highest Turkish league in professional men's football. It started on August 28, 2010 with the first matchday and ended on May 25, 2012 with the play-of-finals.

Competition mode

In the 2011/12 season, as in the TFF 3rd Lig, in contrast to the previous season , a three-tier and two-tier league was played. In addition, the total number of teams was increased from 54 to 57. These 57 teams played in three groups with 19 teams each for promotion to the TFF 2nd Lig or against relegation to the regional amateur league. The division of the league was not carried out regionally. In the first stage, the normal league phase, all first-placed teams were promoted directly to the TFF 2. Lig, while the three last-placed teams in all groups were relegated. The division of the teams into the respective groups was determined by drawing lots. The first table also determined which teams had qualified for the second stage.

In the second stage, the playoff phase, the last three promoted teams were determined by the knockout system . The teams in places two to five of all three groups from the league phase took part in the play-offs. The teams that had qualified for the play-offs from one group played in a separate play-off track designed for this group. The matches on all three play-off tracks were played in cities that were neutral for all participating teams and began with the semi-finals. Each knockout round was played with one match. The teams in places sixteen to eighteen were relegated to the Regional Amateur League.

Composition of participants

Beginning of the season were the remaining from the previous season 39 teams, the six relegated from the TFF 2. Lig akçaabat sebatspor , Hacettepe SK , Gebzespor , Tarsus İdman Yurdu , Belediye Vanspor , Dardanelspor and the twelve newcomers Manavgat Evrensekispor , Beşikdüzüspor , Sandıklı Belediyespor , Ümraniyespor , Elazığ Belediyespor , Maltepespor , Kilimli Belediyespor , Küçükçekmecespor , Erganispor , Erzurum Büyükşehir Belediyespor , Aydınspor 1923 , Çarşambaspor were added. The newcomers had been accepted as champions from the then regional amateur leagues and were allowed to take part in the TFF 3rd Lig.
