Yeşil Bursa Spor Kulübü or in short Yeşil Bursa SK is a Turkish football club from the western Turkish city of Bursa . It was founded by Bursaspor when Bursaspor took over the soccer division of the local sports club Oyak Renault SK in 2013 and has been their second team ever since. Oyak Renault SK, on the other hand, was founded in 1974, so that Yeşil Bursa was first founded in this year. Since the takeover, the team has played their games in the Bursa Ataturk Stadium . The club colors were changed from black and yellow to green and white.
history
Foundation and the first years
The club was founded in 1974 as the sports club Oyak Renault SK , as a company sports club of the Turkish-French car manufacturer Oyak Renault in the western Turkish city of Bursa , the headquarters of Oyak Renault. After the club was founded, the football division played in the lower regional amateur leagues until 2001.
Entry into professional football and the fourth division years
In the summer of 2001, the team rose to the TFF 3rd Lig , the fourth highest Turkish professional football league, and from then on played in this league.
Promotion to the 2nd Lig B
In the fourth division season 2003/04 the club finished the TFF 3rd Lig as runner-up and rose for the first time in his career in the second highest Turkish league, in the 2nd Lig B on. In this league, the club occupied 6th place in the table in its first season and 3rd place in the table in its second.
Relegation to the TFF 3rd Lig
After Oyak Renault had missed relegation to the 2nd Lig B in the summer of 2007, the club rose again after four years in the TFF 3rd Lig.
Takeover by Bursaspor and renaming to Yeşil Bursa SK
Since the reserve teams in Turkey are not allowed to participate in professional leagues, but only in the league of the reserve teams, the A2 Ligi, there have been efforts by some first division clubs to have a side team in one of the lower Turkish leagues for several years.
In this sense, the traditional Turkish club Bursaspor bought Bursa Merinosspor back in the late 1990s and made it its second club with an unchanged name. Here young players were given the chance to gain experience in a professional league. Since Merinosspor was no longer active in professional football in the summer of 2008 with the descent of the TFF 3rd Lig and also failed to make it to the 3rd Lig in the last few seasons, Bursaspor was looking for another second team. In the summer of 2013, the club negotiated with the sports club Oyak Renault SK for the takeover of the football division, which at that time was active in the 3rd league. Both sides quickly agreed on the takeover. After the takeover, Bursaspor declared that it would rename the name and for this purpose made a survey of the audience in which the audience could choose between four names. The choice fell on Yeşil Bursa SK .
