Career

society

Akçakın started playing football in the youth of Gençlerbirliği Ankara and received a professional contract in the summer of 2009. After he was active for one season for the reserve team, he took part in the season preparation camp of the professionals before the 2010/11 season. After this camp he was sorted out by the coaching staff around Thomas Doll . In order to give him the opportunity to collect match practice in a professional league, he was loaned to the second team Gençlerbirliğis and the then third division Hacettepe SK . Here he made his professional debut in the league game against Körfezspor on September 5, 2010 . By the end of the season he came as a substitute player to 21 league appearances and scored three goals. Meanwhile, Hacettepe could not keep relegation and was relegated to the TFF 3rd Lig .

For the 2010/11 season Akçakın returned to Gençlerbirliği and took part in the pre-season camp once more. This time the new coach Fuat Çapa decided that Akçakın was not yet mature enough for the professionals. He was then loaned to Hacettepe for another year. This time he immediately won a regular place and quickly led the scorers list of the TFF 3rd Lig. At the end of the regular TFF 3rd Lig season he scored 20 goals in 32 games and made it with his team in the relegation of the TFF 3 Lig. Here they reached the final, were unlucky 2: 1 against Bayrampaşaspor and thus missed promotion to the TFF 2nd Lig .

In summer 2012 he returned to Gençlerbirliği and again took part in the pre-season camp. This time he was accepted into the professional squad and received a contract extension until 2017. He then took part in the TSYD Ankara Kupası tournament pre-season with Gençlerbirliği and won this trophy with his team. Akçakın scored two goals in the final against Sivasspor and played a big part in his team's 7-1 victory.

For the 2013/14 season Akçakın was loaned to the second division club Fethiyespor .

After Akçakın had spent the first half of the 2014/15 season at Gençlerbirliği and had shot his first first division goal, he was loaned to the second division side Adana Demirspor for the second half . For the next season Gençlerbirliği awarded him to the second division Alanyaspor . From this club he returned after half a season and was loaned to the Istanbul third division club Ümraniyespor for the rest of the season .

In the summer of 2016, he left Gençlerbirliği for good and switched to the second division side Şanlıurfaspor instead .

National team

Akçakın played from the Turkish U-15 to the U-21 in all Turkish youth national teams.

With the Turkish U-17 he took part in the U-17 European Football Championship 2010 and reached the semi-finals, in which they lost to Spain.

As part of the U-20 World Cup in 2013 , he was appointed to the tournament squad of the Turkish U-20 national team.
