The Spor Toto Türkiye 3. Futbol Ligi 2006/07 was the sixth season of the fourth-highest Turkish division in professional men's football. It began on September 7, 2005 with the 1st day of play and ended on April 29, 2006 with the 30th and final day of the game.

Competition mode

In the 2006/07 season which was TFF 3. Lig as in the previous season played as a four-track league. The total number of teams was kept at 64. These 64 teams played in four groups with 16 teams each for promotion to the 2nd league or against relegation to the amateur league. All first and second place winners went straight to the second league , while the teams in the last two places in the table of all groups were relegated to the regional amateur league.

In contrast to the previous season, after the league phase in a subsequent playoff phase, not one further promoted player was indirectly determined in the knockout system , but two. The third and fourth placed of all groups qualified for the playoffs and played the two other climbers here.

Composition of participants

At the beginning of the season, the ten relegated teams from the previous season were the ten relegated teams from the TFF 2. Lig Yıldırım Bosnaspor , Üsküdar Anadolu 1908 SK , Aydınspor , Adanaspor , Aksarayspor , Bursa Merinosspor , Ankara Demirspor , Zonguldakspor , Osmanulingespor the seven Petrolingespor , Batman Belediye Vanspor , Bağlum Belediyespor , Sürmenespor , Bozüyükspor , Balıkesirspor , Tepecik Belediyespor , Orhangazi Gençlerbirliği have been added. The newcomers had been accepted as champions from the then regional amateur leagues and were allowed to take part in the TFF 3rd Lig.

Season course

League phase

Diyarbakır BB Diskispor ( Group 1 ), Araklıspor ( Group 2 ), Bozüyükspor ( Group 3 ), Gaziosmanpaşaspor ( Group 4 ) achieved the championship of the 3rd Lig in their groups and thus the direct promotion to the 2nd Lig . In addition, Adanaspor , EGO Spor , Afyonkarahisarspor and Tepecik Belediyespor rose in second place .

At the end of the season Osmaniyespor , Karamanspor ( Group 1 ), Demir Çelik Divriğispor , Iğdırspor ( Group 2 ), Göztepe Izmir , Sidespor ( Group 3 ) and Çorluspor , Bakırköyspor ( Group 4 ) were relegated.

Playoff phase

By reaching 3rd or 4th place in the table, Mersin BB FK , Aksarayspor ( Group 1 ), Bulancakspor ( Group 2 ), Değirmenderespor , Ofspor , Aliağa Belediyespor , Bursa Merinosspor ( Group 3 ), Alibeyköy SK and Gölcükspor ( Group 4 ) for participation in the playoffs. In the playoff phase, these four teams were to determine the last promoted team in two separate playoff tracks, each with two stages, with the playoffs taking place in Ankara as a neutral location for all teams . Aksarayspor played against Aliağa Belediyespor and Değirmenderespor played against Bursa Merinosspor by lottery in the semi-finals of the first playoff branch. In the semi-finals of the second playoff branch, Bulancakspor faced Alibeyköy SK and Gölcükspor faced Mersin BB FK.

All playoff games were played between May 7th and May 26th, 2007 in Cebeci İnönü Stadı . In the first playoff branch Aliağa Belediyespor prevailed in the semi-final game with 6-1 Aksarayspor, while in the other semi-final match Değirmenderespor reached the playo final with a 2-1 victory over Bursa Merinosspor. In the second playoff branch Alibeyköy reached the final with a 2-1 win over Bulancakspor in the semifinals, while Gölcükspor prevailed against Mersin BB FK with a penalty shoot-out.

In the first final Değirmenderespor prevailed on penalties against Aliağa Belediyespor and rose for the first time in the club's history in the TFF 2. Lig . The 2nd final decided Alibeyköy 4: 3 over Gölcükspor for himself and rose to the 2nd Lig.

    1 Karsspor and Iğdırspor were each deducted three points.
    2DÇ Divriğispor had an accident on the 21st match day on the way to the away game at Gümüşhanespor in which some players were injured. The match was rated 3-0 for Gümüşhanespor. Under these circumstances, the team was spared relegation.

    Alibeyköy SK rose to the TFF Lig B 2007/08 .

    1The penalty shoot-out was erroneously canceled by the umpire when the score was 3: 2 after the seventh penalty kick and Gölcükspor was declared the winner. The game was originally intended to continue with the eighth penalty kick on May 10, 2007. After Mersin BB FK did not appear, the game was initially rated 3-0 for Gölcükspor. Mersin BB FK appealed, and so the TFF decided to continue the meeting on May 23, 2007 at the same point. Gölcükspor scored the 4: 2 and was the winner of the game.
