The TFF Lig B 2006/07 was the 36th season of the third highest Turkish division in professional men's football. It began on August 13, 2006 with the first match day of the qualifying round and ended on May 26, 2007 with the playoff final.

Competition mode

In the 2006/07 season, the third-highest division was essentially played in three stages, as in the previous season . In the 1st stage, the league was played in a qualifying round (Turkish Kademe Grupları ) in five groups of ten teams each with home and away games. After the end of Stage 1, the first two teams from all groups in a common group, the promotion round (in Turkish were yükselme Grubu ) was added, and played here by the rise in the Lig A . The remaining teams in the five groups of the qualifying round played in an unchanged group constellation now in a relegation round (Turkish Düşme Grupları ) against relegation to the TFF 3rd Lig . Both the promotion round and the relegation round represented the 2nd stage and were played with two legs. The teams in the first two places in the promotion round rose directly to Lig A and the last two teams in all groups in the relegation round relegated to the TFF 3rd Lig . While the points from the qualifying round were not taken into the promotion round, they were counted unchanged in the relegation round. The 3rd stage was again carried out in the form of a play-off round. Only the playoff was not played with 16 teams as in the previous season, but with eight teams. The teams ranked from three to five and all the promotion round group winners of all descent groups should in the knockout system play out the third and final intermediates. The playoffs were held at the end of the group stage in a city that was neutral for all eight teams.

Beginning of the season were the remaining from the previous season 38 teams, the three relegated from the 2. Lig Mersin İdmanyurdu , Yimpas Yozgatspor , Dardanelspor , the nine newcomers Etimesgut Şekerspor , Fethiyespor , Zeytinburnuspor , Gebzespor , Keciörengücü , Arsinspor , Tokatspor , Erzincanspor , Gaskispor added. The newcomers were promoted from the TFF 3rd Lig.

The season ended Boluspor as champions and thus managed to participate in the second highest Turkish league again after seven years of abstinence. The 2nd place in the table occupied Kartalspor and thus achieved promotion to the 2nd Lig Aategorisi . The play-offs were carried out as a neutral city in Bursa and played under the teams Adana Demirspor , Alanyaspor , MKE Kırıkkalespor , Etimesgut Şekerspor , Marmaris Belediye Gençlikspor , KDÇ Karabükspor , Giresunspor and Kahramanmaraşspor . In the play-off final, Giresunspor prevailed 5-1 against Adana Demirspor and, after eight years of abstinence, returned to the 2nd Lig Aategorisi. Relegated at the end of the season were Yalovaspor , Oyak Renault SK ( Group 1 ), Nazilli Belediyespor , Muğlaspor ( Group 2 ), Keçiörengücü , Darıca Gençlerbirliği ( Group 3 ), Tokatspor , Ünyespor ( Group 4 ) and Siirtspor , Cizrespor ( Group 5 ).

At the start of the season, Ankara Şekerspor changed its club name to Etimesgut Şekerspor and Yozgatspor to Yimpaş Yozgatspor .
