The Türkiye 3. Futbol Ligi 1973/74 was the seventh season of the third highest Turkish division in professional men's football. It was started on August 26, 1973 with the 1st game day and ended on June 25, 1974 with the 24th game day.

In contrast to the previous season, the league was transformed from a four-track league into a two-track one. The two groups were referred to as group red and group white . The former was played with 21 teams and the latter with 22 teams. In contrast to the previous season, not only did the champions of both groups move up to the 2nd league , but also the runners-up. The number of relegations per group was also increased. Instead of the two last-placed teams, the four last-placed teams were relegated to the regional amateur league. By reducing the number of groups from four to two and the number of relegated groups per group at the same time, the total number of relegated teams in the league remained at eight.

Beginning of the season the four relegated from were the remaining from the previous season 40 teams 2. Lig Karabükspor , Afyonspor , Feriköy SK and Karşıyaka SK added. There were no newcomers who were either accepted as champions from the then fourth-class regional amateur leagues or who met the requirements of the Turkish Football Association and were thus allowed to participate in the third-highest division. Beyoğluspor declared at the beginning of the season that they did not want to take part in the game of the 3rd Lig. As a result, the Red group was played with 21 instead of 22 teams.

After Nazillispor from the White group was relegated on the third last match day, the team did not appear in the last two games. These games were then rated with a 3-0 defeat.

As champions group red Çorumspor and group white MKE Kırıkkalespor reached the championship of the 3rd Lig and thus direct promotion to the 2nd Lig . The runners-up Rizespor and Karabükspor also achieved direct promotion to the 2nd league. While Beykozspor achieved direct promotion back to the 2nd league , the promotion meant Lüleburgazspor, Gaziantepspor and Karabükspor's first participation in their club history in the 2nd league stood out of the group red Davutpaşa SK , Taksim SK , Sitespor and Yedikule SK and from the group white Hacettepe GK , Afyonspor , Ankara Güneşspor and Nazillispor as relegated to the regional amateur league.

    • The red group was originally intended to be played like the white group with 22 teams. After Beyoğluspor declared its non-participation, the group was limited to 21 teams.
