Omar Ortiz Uribe (born March 13, 1976 in Monterrey ) is a retired Mexican football player . The goalkeeper was a Mexican international .

He started his career in 1997 at CF Monterrey . In 2001/02 he played for Atlético Celaya , then returned to the Rayados for half a year . He was at Necaxa for Apertura 2003 . He was then under contract with Jaguares de Chiapas until 2007 . In 2008 he was back with Necaxa and in 2009 with CF Atlante . In the summer of 2009 he was signed again by his old club Monterrey. As a substitute goalkeeper, he was part of the championship team of the Apertura 2009. Both in a championship game in March 2010 and in May at the Copa Libertadores , he was tested positive for oxymetholone and drostanolone and then banned for doping for two years.

Ortiz was once called up to the Mexican national team. At the 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup he played against Guatemala .
