Tolga Özkalfa (born April 22, 1977 in Nazilli ) was a Turkish football referee .

Career

Before he became a referee, Özkalfa was a goalkeeper for the amateur club Nazilli 5 Eylül Spor for four years .

He has been a referee since 1998 and whistles for the province of Izmir . Özkalfa made his debut in the highest Turkish football league, the Süper Lig , on August 14, 2004; he led the match MKE Ankaragücü against İstanbulspor (0-0).

From 2010 to 2013 he was a FIFA referee.

After the Referees Association relegated him to the TFF 1st Lig in 2017 , Özkalfa announced his end of career.

Private

Özkalfa graduated from high school in his hometown Nazilli and then began studying medicine at Ege Üniversitesi . After his successful studies, he opened his own dental practice in the city of Güzelyalı , Konak (Izmir) . Since then he has been working there as a dentist .

Özkalfa is married to Esra Özkalfa, a translator .
