Zara Belediyespor is a Turkish football club from the city of Zara in the Central Anatolian province of Sivas . The club was founded in 1955 as a sports club of the local city administration and has the club colors red and black. The team plays their home games at the Zara K.Ahmet Başyurt Stadı . In the summer of 2015, the club achieved promotion to the TFF 3rd Lig , the fourth-highest division, and thus the first participation in Turkish professional football. In addition to Zara Belediyespor , the club unofficially uses the club name Zaraspor .

Foundation and the first years

The association was founded in 1955 after the efforts of some city ​​notables and young people under the name Zara Spor Kulübü , or Zaraspor for short . After the club was founded, the club played in the regional amateur leagues, u. a. the Sivas Amatoer Küme .
