Roland Wilbur Brown

Roland Wilbur Brown (born May 12, 1893 in Weatherly, Pennsylvania , † December 21, 1961 ) was an American paleobotanist and stratigraph . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is “ RWBr. ".

Brown received his doctorate from Johns Hopkins University in 1961 and was a paleontologist and geologist at the US Geological Survey from 1928 until his retirement in 1958 . He was also from 1951 Research Associate in the Geology Department of the Smithsonian Institution (United States National Museum).

He dealt with fossil plants of the Mesozoic and Tertiary in North America.
