Ayvalikgücü Belediyespor is a Turkish football club from the district town of Ayvalık in the province of Balıkesir . The team is supported by the municipality, which is indicated by the addition of the name Belediyespor .

history

The club was founded in 1966 under the name Ayvalıkgücü and took part in the newly introduced third-highest Turkish league, the TFF 3rd Lig (now TFF 2nd Lig ). The 1987/88 season was completed as a master and rose to the second highest Turkish league, today's TFF 1st Lig , on. After taking part in the game for six seasons in this league, they missed relegation at the end of the 1993/94 season and was back in third class. Then the club went downhill.

In the 2000s, Ayvalık's city council rose to the club's board and ensured that the club rose to the top amateur league of the Boelgesel Amatoer Lig (BAL for short). In the 2011/12 season, the season ended in second place in the table and qualified for the relegation games for promotion to the lowest professional league in Turkey, the fourth-class TFF 3rd Lig . Here they were eliminated in the first round against Afyon Emirdağspor .

Modern times

On the 28th matchday of the 5th league season 2012/13 the club reached the championship of the highest Turkish amateur league, the Boelgesel Amatoer Lig . The club was promoted to the TFF 3rd Lig and, after an eleven-year absence, took part in Turkish professional football again. In the summer of 2016, the club went back to the Bölgesel Amatoer Lig.
