history

founding

Kuşadasıspor was founded in 1934 after efforts by some city notables.

Entry into professional football

After Turkish professional football had been reduced from three to just two professional leagues in the summer of 1980, the third highest professional football league, the 3rd Lig , now known as TFF 2nd Lig , was reintroduced in 1984 on the directive of then President Turgut Özal . In addition, it was announced that after certain requirements and conditions have been met, you can apply for participation in the league. In order to promote urban development, several city notables tried to meet the requirements. After the conditions were met, the Turkish Football Association confirmed participation. So Kuşadasıspor took part in the 1984/85 season of the re-introduced 3rd Lig. Already in the first season the club reached the championship of the 3rd Lig and rose for the first time in the club's history to the second highest Turkish league, then known as the 2nd Lig . Already in this first season Kuşadasıspor delivered a head-to-head race with the team of the provincial capital, Aydınspor . At the end of the season they became runner-up in the 3rd Lig with two points difference to Aydınspor and missed their first participation in the 2nd Lig .

Promotion to the 2nd league and the second division seasons

Already in the second third division season, the 1985/86 season , Kuşadasıspor achieved the first ascent in the club's history to the second division through the championship of the third division . Promoted to the 2nd league, the club occupied the first four seasons of the table in the upper half of the table and was one of the established teams in the 2nd league. In the 1990/91 season , the team got into the relegation region during the season and was able to end the season do not achieve relegation. After five years of membership in the second division, the club rose again to the 3rd league .

Second second division period

Relegated to the 3rd league, Kuşadasıspor only succeeded in the 1995/96 season through the third division championship of promotion to the 2nd league. During this time, the club was financially supported by a patron and strengthened itself with seasoned first division professionals such as Feyyaz Uçar , Şener Kurtulmuş , Levent Eriş . Although they played for promotion to the 1st Lig in some seasons, they clearly missed it every time. After the expected success failed to materialize, the donors withdrew, so that the association was on its own again.

Relegation to the amateur league

In the second division season 1999/2000 , the club rose after missed relegation back to the third division. Here too, relegation failed, so that in summer 2001 they were relegated to the amateur league.

Current situation

In the 2009/10 season they reached the championship of Aydın Süper Amatoer Ligi , the sixth highest division and the second highest amateur league in Turkey, and rose to the Boelgesel Amateur Ligi (German Regional Amateur League ), the highest Turkish amateur league.

Stadion

The Kuşadası Özer-Türk Stadium was built during the term of office of the club president and the then incumbent district champion Engin Berberoğlu . The stadium is named after the former Kaymakam Özer Türk from the city of Kuşadası. He showed great commitment to urban development during his term in office from 1967 to 1970. Among other things, he made sure that Kuşadası became the first tourist destination in Turkey. Because of these merits, Berberoğlu enforced this name.
