İlhan Mansız (born August 10, 1975 in Kempten (Allgäu) ) is a Turkish actor , figure skater and former soccer player .

Life and sports career

Mansız grew up in Kempten and is the son of Turkish immigrants. He began his footballing career as a teenager at SV Lenzfried and then moved to FC Kempten . This was followed by his transfer to FC Augsburg . Here he celebrated the German A-Juniors soccer championship in 1993 . He now came to 1. FC Cologne , but could not prevail in the 1st Bundesliga and then moved to Gençlerbirliği Ankara in Turkey .

There he was also unable to assert himself and returned to Germany. After half a year without football, he tried his luck with the amateur club SV Türk Gücü Munich . Then he moved to Turkey for the second time to the Turkish second division team Kuşadasıspor . There he was noticed by those responsible at Samsunspor , who then brought him to Samsun . He then played successfully for Samsunspor for three years.

Only after his move to Beşiktaş , where he became a regular player, did his career start rolling. He finished the 2001/02 season as the top scorer . Mansız was appointed to the Turkish national team and played in the 2002 World Cup when he finished third in the tournament with Turkey and scored three important goals in the final round, including a golden goal in the quarter-finals against Senegal. His popularity in Europe, Asia and especially in Japan led him to the Japanese first division club Vissel Kobe . After a protracted injury that he sustained in June 2004, he moved to Bundesliga club Hertha BSC during the winter break of 2004/05 . Due to injury problems he was unable to gain a foothold here and left the Berlin club after the end of the season.

In July 2005, the 21-time national player signed a one-year contract with MKE Ankaragücü . The club finished 13th in the Turkish Süper Lig in the 2004/05 season . During this time he was hit by a car as a passer-by in Munich , causing an injury to his left leg. As a result, he had to temporarily end his career in summer 2006 because of knee problems.

In 2009 Mansız made a comeback attempt after several successful knee operations, he trained with the team of TSV 1860 Munich for several months in the summer and was also used there in some friendly matches. At the beginning of October, however, he announced that he no longer wanted to return to active football.

Since August 2010 Mansız has been training as a pair runner together with the Slovak OlgaStockigova in Oberstdorf with Alexander König .

TV career

During the interruption of his sports career, Mansız began to act as an actor in TV series. Previously, he had participated in several commercials in Turkey and Japan . Among other things, he was seen as the presenter and driver of the quiz program Para Taksi , an adaptation of the program Quiz Taxi and played in the series Die Ärzte ( Doktorlar ).
