Fethi Heper (born February 3, 1944 in Eskişehir ) is a former Turkish football player . Heper was nicknamed Çengel when he was active . In addition, the Eskişehirspor fans created a slogan for him and his teammates Nihat Atacan and Ender Konca : Fethi-Nihat-Ender filelere gönder ( Eng . Fethi-Nihat-Ender sends him online ). With 95 first division players, he is the most successful first division shooter in the club's history.

Heper has been on the board of the Turkish Football Association since 2012 .

Player career

Fethi Heper started in 1960 in his homeland Eskişehir with the amateur club Eskişehir Gençlik Kulübü , his older brothers also played there. He was the top scorer twice, which is why one of his older brothers brought him to the Galatasaray Istanbul trial . However, he was rejected by the then coach Gündüz Kılıç because the club already had a large squad and he did not want to give the young player false hopes. He returned to Eskişehir and continued to play at the amateur level until 1965.

In 1965 he moved to the new city club Eskişehirspor . In the first season of the club's history, they were promoted from the 2nd division to the 1st division. From then on, Eskişehirspor became the first team in Turkey to end the supremacy of the three Istanbul clubs: Beşiktaş , Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray. In 1969, 1970 and 1972 the club was runner-up. Heper played a major role. He was the team's top scorer. In 1970 and 1972 he was the top scorer in the Turkish league. In 1971 he won the Turkish Cup.

National team

Heper began his national team career in 1962 with a commitment for the Turkish U-18 national team.

Between 1968 and 1973 he played three international matches for the Turkish national team , in which he scored three goals.

academic career

After his career as a football player, Heper devoted himself to his studies, which he began during his career in 1967, at the Academy of Economics and Commerce in Eskişehir. In 1978 Heper received his doctorate.
