The 1st Lig 1991/92 was the 34th season of the highest Turkish league in men's football . It started on August 31, 1991 with the game Galatasaray Istanbul against Sarıyer SK and ended on May 17, 1992 with the last game day. From December 21, 1991 to February 8, 1992 the season was interrupted by the winter break.
Beşiktaş Istanbul was the first of the season and thus Turkish men's champion . The black and white defended their title for the second time in a row and became the third team behind Galatasaray Istanbul and Trabzonspor to win the Turkish championship three times in a row. It was the eighth championship win in the club's history. Beşiktaş also ended the season unbeaten.
Relegated in the 1991/92 season were Boluspor , Adana Demirspor and Samsunspor .
Attendees
For the 1st Lig 1991/92, the 13 clubs remaining from the previous season were joined by the three promoted teams from the last second division season . The climbers were the three second division champions Altay İzmir , Adana Demirspor and Samsunspor . All three teams thus achieved direct promotion back to the 1st Lig.
