1st Lig 1981/82

The 1st Lig 1982/83 was the 25th season of the highest Turkish league in men's football . It began on August 28, 1982 with the game Galatasaray Istanbul against Mersin İdman Yurdu , which went 1-0 and ended on June 19, 1983. From January 9, 1983 to February 20, 1983 the season was interrupted by the winter break.

On June 12, 1983, the 33rd matchday, Fenerbahçe Istanbul secured the 10th championship in the club's history prematurely with a 2-1 away win against Bursaspor one matchday before the end of the season.

The league was increased this season by another team to now 18 participants.

Attendees

For the 1st Lig 1982/83, the four promoted teams from the last second division season have been added to the 14 clubs remaining from the previous season . This increased the number of participants from 17 to 18 participants. The climbers were the four second division champions Sarıyer GK , Antalyaspor , Mersin İdman Yurdu and Samsunspor . While the rise for Antalyaspor and for the Istanbul club Sarıyer GK meant the first first division participation in the club's history, Samsunspor returned with the rise after four years in the 1st Lig. Mersin İdman Yurdu achieved direct resurgence through the second division championship.
