Erdoğan Arıca (born July 24, 1954 in Fatsa , Ordu , † April 10, 2012 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish football player , coach and sports manager . Most recently he was managing director of Çaykur Rizespor . He was the nephew of actor Kadir İnanır and the older brother of pop singer Soner Arıca .

Career

Arıca played for Malatyaspor from 1972-1974 , then moved to the then second division club Orduspor , where he stayed until 1977. He then played for Galatasaray SK until 1981 . He then moved to the equally successful Fenerbahçe SK , where he was loaned to Diyarbakırspor . Most recently he played at Sarıyer GK until 1990 as a defender. In 1990 he decided to actively quit football and became a football manager and coach.

death

In April 2012, Arıca died of cancer . He had been diagnosed with lung cancer about a year earlier .
